The Modern Mrs.

Here are a few tidbits that may help you understand me:

1. I am a new mom.  I am learning as I go and any thoughts expressed here on parenting are simply my opinion!!  I am not attacking how you chose to raise your children, nor do I want to hear criticism on how I raise mine.  I am going to do what I think is right by my child and that’s all there is to it.  If you don’t like my parenting, don’t read about it!

2. I live in LA, but want to move back to the OC where I grew up.

3. I’m in love with my husband, Brian who makes video games.

4. I have one child, C, and two furry children, Penny and Dodger.

5. My life can be told by my history in books.  I was reading Jane Austen in junior high, moved on to modern lit in high school, delved into the diaspora in college, and  returned to my love for the Romantics in grad school.

6. I am almost unbeatable in Scrabble. I play word games in my head when I’m bored. In short, I love language.

7. My family has always and will always come first in my life, which means I’m constantly going to family parties and events for my large extended family (roughly 115 people).

8. I am currently finishing up my graduate degree in Information and Library Sciences.  I can’t wait to someday be a librarian!

9. But currently I am a practicing housewife fighting my conflicting urges to find a career outside of my home and to care for my baby, my home, my husband, and my dogs.  Thus I am the modern mrs.!
